How do I wash my products?
We recommend a cold hand wash, wiping all hardware dry after getting the dirt off and then hang-drying the item in the shade. This will ensure the longevity of your products. If there's a stubborn stain, a Napisan or equivalent in cold water can't hurt.
Are your products 'beach friendly'?
Our brass, stainless steel and plastic hardware options are beach friendly.
We do, however, recommend that you rinse the products thoroughly with cold tap water after being at the beach to get rid of that salt water and minimise the chances of accelerated wear.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the standard gold, silver and rose gold options are beach friendly. If you do use products with this hardware at the beach, rinse thoroughly with cold water afterwards to reduce chances of accelerated wear.
Do your collars fit cats too?
Yes! We've made a few standard collars for a bunch of cats and kittens, in fact! Generally an X-Small will fit your cat/kitten, but do get in contact with us if you require a smaller size. We'd be more than happy to help you out.
What are the collar size options?
For the standard style of collar, the sizes available include:
X-Small fits neck sizes 19-25cm
Small fits neck sizes 25-35cm
Medium fits neck sizes 35-45 cm
Large fits neck sizes 45-55cm
X-Large fits neck sizes 55-65cm
For the martingale style of collar, the sizes available include:
X-Small fits neck sizes 25-30cm
Small fits neck sizes 30-40cm
Medium fits neck sizes 35-50 cm
Large fits neck sizes 50-70cm
Quick hint: a size Medium is the most common for greyhounds. The Medium size also fits my large German Shepherd
How do I measure my dog to work out their collar size?
The collar sizes are based on the circumference of your pup's neck. To measure this, grab a flexible tape measure, and put it around their neck - you'll be able to read the measurement from there. If you have troubles doing this, shoot us an email or message and we'll be able to help you out!
Note: Make sure that the tape measure is not too tight around your pup's neck (being able to fit two fingers underneath is a good rule of thumb). The tape measure should be about the fit that you'd like the collar to be.
How do I measure my dog to work out their Greyhound Harness size?
The Greyhound Harness sizes are based on your dog's chest depth (aka girth) and the base of their neck. The chest girth measurement should be taken at the 'deepest'/widest point on your pup's chest, and the neck measurment should be right at the base of their neck (where the neck joins with the chest). See the below helpful diagram for the roough locations of measurements.
As all harnesses are made to order, every size is custom made. Please note your pup's measurements in the notes to seller box at check out. We will confirm with you via email following placement of your order. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have trouble measuring your dog!
See below the old standard sizes for reference. Most greyhounds tended to be a size Large.
Small: Chest girth 30-50 cm. Base of neck 30-35 cm.
Medium: Chest girth 45-70 cm. Base of neck 30-45 cm.
Large: Chest girth 55-90 cm. Base of neck 40-50 cm.
Extra Large: Chest girth 70-105 cm. Base of neck 45-60 cm.
How do I measure my dog to work out their No-Pull Harness size?
The No-Pull Harness sizes are based on your dog's chest depth (aka girth) and the front of their chest. Measurements can be made according to the diagram below.
The front chest strap should start and end in line with your dog's 'armpits' on either side of their body. This is where the circular joint will sit against your dog's chest.
Please contact us if you have trouble measuring your dog or require an 'in between'/smaller size.
Standard sizes available include:
Small: Front chest strap is adjustable from 25 to 29cm and the shoulder/chest strap is adjustable from 51 to 62cm
Medium: Front chest strap is adjustable from 31 to 36cm and the shoulder/chest strap is adjustable from 62 to 79cm
Large: Front chest strap is adjustable from 35 to 42cm and the shoulder/chest strap is adjustable from 68 to 87cm
Extra Large: Front chest strap is adjustable from 42 to 55cm and the shoulder/chest strap is adjustable from 75 to 105cm
How much does shipping cost?
We use Australia Post to ship our products. Within Australia, standard shipping costs $10.60, Express shipping is $14.10 and if you live in Sydney, you can do a local pick up for free.
Where do you ship to?
Anywhere in the world! We typically ship Australia-wide, but also have shipping profiles set up for NZ, the USA, the UK, Canada and Germany. If you live in a different country and are interested in TPP gear, please contact us and we can sort out international postage.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes! Either fill in the contact form on this website or send us an email and we'd be more than happy to take a look at your request.
How long will it take to receive my order?
All goods are made to order. Current lead times are slightly longer than normal due to increased demand. Lead times are listed on the home page of the website and in the website banner. Regardless of lead times, you will be kept in the loop whilst your order is being made. Then it's all down to the shipping times. You can track your order using AusPost. If you'd like updates on your order, feel free to send an email to us and we'll let you know where we're at in the process.
What is your return policy?
All goods are made to order, so if the wrong size is ordered, we may not be able to exchange it. If you are unsure of what size will fit your pup, please email us or send us a DM on Facebook or Instagram before placing an order. In the event that your items do not fit, please get in contact with us and we can assess if an alteration or exchange is possible.
Per Australia Consumer Law, if a product you've received has a major problem, you are entitled to a refund for the cost of the item/s. Please email us if you believe that your received items have a major problem. Note that the item/s must be confirmed to have a fault by The Pointed Pup prior to funds being released.
